Our client is a leading manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry, seeking an Machine Set-Up Technician (degree not required). This role is right for a self-starter who is hands-on, enjoys working on the shop floor and with management.

SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE:
Machine setup, adjustment, process and production troubleshooting and punctual maintenance of the machines.  Resource on shift team for ensuring quality and quantity of manufactured products by interfacing with other team members and offering instructions as  well as a hands-on example.
 
Minimum educational level required:   High school diploma or equivalent (basic reading & math and basic computer skills).
           
Seeking candidates with two years of experience in the plastics industry!

 
Must successfully complete company provided ‘’Hands-On‘’ & class training.
Must successfully complete Certification as Quality Inspector.
 
  • Establish new Molding Settings
  • Optimize existing Processes
  • Minor Machine & Mold Repairs
  • Perform Material & Mold Changes
  • Enter Process Parameters into PLC or computer
  • Adjust Process Parameters as necessary to produce quality product
  • Production startups and complete documentation
  • Understand parts and molding terminology
  • Use of measuring equipment such as calipers & dial indicators
  • Hands on processing and process adjustments
  • Responsible to keep presses running and to eliminate downtime to meet production goals
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication, written and computer skills
  • Calculator, computer, special gauges and fixtures                                                
  • Must be able to safely use Tools, including hand, power & mold maintenance
  • Must be able to properly set-up and tear down injection molding, blow molding and related processes.
  • Must understand basic maintenance, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues and able to address them with traceability.
  • Must be able to evaluate product using measurement devices and product drawings.
  • Must complete the necessary paperwork to properly report all production activities.
  • Help encourage a clean and organized work environment through training and participation.
 
Regular, predictable attendance is a requirement of this position.
