Our client is a well-established, growing company with a dynamic leadership team, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their organization. Our client is a low volume, high mix manufacturer of products for  Medical Device, Aerospace and related industries. The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements manufacturing processes to maintain proper functionality as well as cost efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop fixturing, research and implement approved automation and train employees on the methods developed.

Responsibilities include:
  • Be a safety role model.  Engage with employees, supervision and management to create and promote a safe work environment.  Always work first to engineer safety into our work processes.
  • Work to meet your personal manufacturing engineering KPIs.   Monthly, investigate and provide root cause analysis when KPIs are not met to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. Implement approved corrective actions.
  • Actively engage with all employees to support our Lean Transformation, deploying Lean Tools to improve employee safety, processes and decrease cost.  Problem solves gaps and redesign. Implement mistake-proofing concepts to prevent product defects.
  • Analyze and design fixtures, processes and recommend automation of process including new equipment. 
  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications.  Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures are in place before utilizing vendors/subcontractors.  Provide input and support during the selection process of new vendors
Requirements for Manufacturing Engineer:
  • BS degree with engineering emphasis required,
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with manufacturing processes (build to print and new product development) and successfully leading a Manufacturing Engineering function within a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.
  • Black/Green Belt or Lean Certification required.
  • Machine shop experience (CNC and manual grinding) a plus
  • Magnet assembly a plus
