General Summary
The Supply Chain Digital Transformation Director is responsible for transforming, designing and implementing a digital supply chain strategy to improve efficiencies, reliability and accuracy in our operations in support of company growth and diversification efforts. This is a management position that combines strategy, operations, and technology to rethink, define and implement new and/or improved systems and digital solutions for our end to end supply chain operations and data visibility. The Supply Chain Digital Transformation Director will work closely with other internal teams and  leadership to identify, evaluate, and realize new supply chain digital investment and growth opportunities. The director reports to the group Senior Vice President.
 
Illustrative Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Defines digital supply network strategy, including prioritization of future investments and budget.
  • Ideate, design, and roll-out state-of-the art systems and digital solutions to improve supply chain operations performance.
  • Liaises with relevant cross-functional system owners and subject matter experts at the headquarters (HQ) and country-levels to create and maintain integration points for full system functionality with relevant existing corporate and project systems.
  • Ensures end-users engagement in designing and testing to fully meet their needs.
  • Manages relevant technology provider(s) and serves as the main point of contact on behalf of the company
  • Supports in-country and/or HQ deployments of systems and digital solutions and oversees data migration and change management efforts in coordination with other relevant teams.
  • Leads in-country and/or HQ deployment strategy, including developing plans and approaches for field office training and mentoring, data migration activities, and logistics requirements.
  • Presents deployments progress reports to  leadership and effectively communicates, escalates, and resolves relevant project issues.
  • Contributes to continuous system improvement during and after deployments based on end-user inputs and observations.
  • Supports development of training content and materials for in-country/HQ deployments, in coordination with relevant staff and conducts remote, classroom, and one-on-one end-user trainings for in-country/HQ staff.
 
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports identification and recruitment of individuals with technical expertise who may be available for short- and long-term assignments.
  • Serves as a mentor in area of expertise to staff.
  • Identifies internal capacity gaps and supports design of capacity building programs for internal staff.
  • Promotes staff development through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
  • Delegates, supervises, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. Communicates clear performance goals and standards and ensures staff receives regular constructive performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and time and opportunity to grow and develop in key competence areas.
  • Creates a respectful, productive, and motivating work environment by establishing and maintaining partnerships across departments, staying abreast of management, leadership, and team building strategies.
  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other job related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum eight years of professional experience in information technology or other related field required.
  • Supply chain strategy and operations expertise with specific focus on procurement, order fulfillment, logistics, and returns.
  • A demonstrated understanding of how analytics and business strategy work together to drive growth.
  • Proven knowledge of the most forward-thinking perspectives on the future of supply chain and capability to implement new technologies.
  • Relevant information technology certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Agile, Six Sigma preferred.
  • Experience with / knowledge of the following technologies preferred:
    • AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, etc.)
    • Distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark and MapReduce and data streaming such as Kafka, Spark streaming
    • API management solution such as Apigee, Mulesoft, AWS API Gateway, etc.
    • Programming skill with at least one of the following - Python, Java, Scala, etc.
    • Data modeling tools (Erwin, Power Designer) and standards
    • Data profiling tools such as Ataccama, Trifacta, etc.
  • Demonstrated project and program management experience in a complex environment.
  • Understanding of supply chain operations and designing and implementing information technology solutions in a developing country context preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage working relationships with clients, partners, technical experts, and staff.
  • Experience delivering training in various formats including classroom, one-on-one, and remote.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Proficiency in English required. Additional proficiency in foreign language(s) preferred.
