Our client is in need of a Sales Manager to manage the overall sales activities and department.  This is a well-respected precision machining operation. This position reports directly to the President of the company.  You will be a member of the senior leadership team and this is a great opportunity to help take this company to the next level.  Currently at $9 million for sales and plans to double it within the decade.
 
Duties:
  • Formulate sales and marketing objectives, policies, and sales programs designed to achieve maximum volume and profitability of company
  • Develop, motivate, and train your team of 3 sales professionals (will grow) to ensure effective sales and marketing of the clients products and services.
  • Establish pricing margin strategy.
  • Create incentive programs and evaluate results to determine effectiveness.
  • Make trips and otherwise maintain contacts with customers to assist with selling and closing orders with major customers, about 1/3 of the time traveling (mostly by car)
  • Handle inquiries and complaints from clients and potential clients
  • Supervise the maintenance of records and files and the preparation of reports for sales activities.
  • Analyze reports and prepare recommendations to create forecasts and project operating budgets.
  • Develop promotional material to include videos, brochures, direct mailings and website content to promote the company to customers and for use at trade fairs and conventions.
  • Analyze existing company products and compare to competitors lines to determine relative price and marketability, and, where warranted, recommend changes in sales techniques and design improvements.
  • Serve as a member of the corporate senior leadership team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or a closely related field
  • 10+ years of sales experience in the manufacturing industry, including at least 5 years in a company that does machining, preferably job shop
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a sales team
  • Strengths must include forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Hands-on leader that will help direct sales team members. 
  • Excellent communicator, trustworthy, ethical and have strong business acumen.
