Our client, a $150B division of a leading B2B global developer and manufacturer of quality medical adhesives, films, coatings, and contract manufacturing services is searching for a Strategic Account Manager.  This position reports to the Vice President of Global Sales.  You will be CREATING Strategic Account Management for this organization, focusing first on a large Medical Device Key Account and growing the department from there.  This position, with success, will lead to company and personal career growth!

Strategic Account Manager - Key Account focus Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities include the following:

  • Clearly outline Account organizational structure, key positions (decision makers) and strategy to engage key account(s)
  • Identify asset acquisitions and strategic NPD’s through engagement with Account - Based on account’s strategy and Company capabilities, develop proposals for opportunities that will result in $5M+ in revenue
  • Identify asset acquisitions and strategic NPD’s (new product development opportunities)
  • Network and operate effectively throughout key Global accounts across business units and all locations
  • Develop relationships with account executive leadership
  • Build overarching strategy to leverage business across divisions and engage all strategic divisions within the account
  • Work directly with key decision makers at the enterprise level
  • Engage in “Needs discovery” conversations and “value creation sessions”
  • Provide rigorous application of company resources, operational and structural alignment with account direction and needs
  • Establish the company as a business partner that can add significant value through creative investments (i.e. asset acquisition)
  • Must work closely with Sales Representatives to relay important information relating to existing business and customer strategy.

Strategic Account Manager - Key Account Focus Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing and/or Business
  • 7 - 10 years account management sales experience in a medical device sales environment
  • Business and financial acumen required to develop business proposals with compelling strategic and financial benefits for both company and Strategic customer
  • Experience operating at strategic executive level including C-level
  • Existing relationships at key Healthcare companies is required (knowledge of surgical product, cardiovascular, vascular, diabetes products preferred)
  • Excellent negotiation & communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills as well as excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to travel in market territory - Global role supporting key accounts, mostly USA travel, all travel up to 50%, includes some international travel
